In 2009, Gary Vaynerchuk wrote the book “Crush It” which was a kind of work that solidified his personal brand apart from his Wine Library TV and allowed him to evolve into a fertile public speaker. Enough to say that, now, he is a five-time best selling author. So 9 years later, in 2018, he has written “Crushing It” which might be treated as a follow up to “Crush it”, and it features and describes great stories of people who were influenced by his first book. He eventually grew into what he is now, a very successful businessman, a marketing guru, and a phenomenal speaker. The important thing is that he is doing it right by teaching people how to properly conduct their current businesses.
“Crushing It” tells you how you can utilise social platforms based on a plethora of breakdowns of success stories of people who mastered platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Linkedin, YouTube, etc. By reading the book you get the origin stories of these people.
Worth to say that this is not just about digital marketing and social media. The book is about how you can build and develop real businesses in the modern era and take advantage of the tools and the opportunities that are now available to you and showing you how to do it, by talking chronological steps based on other great online entrepreneurs as well as people who have built firms with advantages of online tools to scale those endeavours.
If you want to focus on something specific, whether it’s Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat or even live streaming, then I believe that this book can offer you a bedrock for that. More importantly, I think it could lead you in direction of someone’s success, that you can apply by taking the same steps that they took in their journey and use similar resources. Consequently, you might be able to relate to them during your way.
Another thing to point out is the fact that the book, in my opinion, aims at people that currently have a business and do not want to embrace social media. It shows how old-school people have to wake up and must embrace new rules in marketing.
Last but not least, I have to mention discipline. Depending on how disciplined you want to be, you will see the results of your actions. By discipline, I mean daily actions and further analysis of factors what is going to work for you and your business. Only then your annual percent will rise by maybe a small amount or a medium or high, it depends on mentioned discipline.
Finally, I have to say that it’s a quick read and it’s a great reference tool. Something that you should reread a couple of times to fully embrace new approaches and make them your daily habits.
